Load Flow Study

Load-flow study is the steady-state analysis where the objective is to determine the voltages, currents, and real and reactive power flows in an electrical network under a specific load conditions.

The goal of this study is to plan ahead which might account for various hypothetical situations. Let us consider a small real time scenario, if any transmission line is taken off line for maintenance kind of activity will the remaining lines of the network be capable of supplying the required loads without any disruptions? This is the case where load flow study comes into picture
